At DAT, we're serious about security and protecting the integrity of the load board for all users. We are continuously improving our defenses against fraudulent activity. To better protect you and the DAT network, we’re launching a new AI-powered solution designed to detect potential fraud and alert users to issues.
Starting now, you'll see warnings about unregistered or improperly formatted contact methods on shipment posts. In the future, these posts will be auto-removed from the load board.
Following these best practices will ensure your posts aren't removed and stay visible on the load board.
FAQ
What is the new AI-powered fraud solution?
The new AI model is designed to detect suspicious or potentially fraudulent content on the load board. It analyzes multiple data points to identify and remove posts that violate our security protocols.
Why are my posts getting removed?
One main reason posts are removed is the presence of unregistered or improperly formatted contact information. Our AI-powered solution is particularly sensitive to:
- Unregistered Contacts:
Phone numbers or email addresses in the Comments section that have not been officially registered to your account or your workgroups. - Abnormal Formatting:
Using unusual spelling, capitalization, or special characters to disguise phone numbers or emails.- Ensure all contact methods are entered in a clear, standard format.
- Phone numbers: 555-555-5555 x123, (555) 555-5555 x123
- Only dashes or periods may be used between digits
- Email addresses: username@domain.com, .org, .net, etc.
What happens if a post gets removed?
Coming soon, if your post is removed, the AI system has identified the content as suspicious. Your post will be marked as "Removed," and our Compliance team and your company admin will be notified.
Important to note: While we are currently warning users about posts to review, we reserve the right to remove any flagged posts in the future as part of our ongoing commitment to eliminate fraud from the load board.
How can I fix a removed post?
If a post is removed, "Copy" the removed post via the three-dot menu on the table row, then look at the Comments you entered. Ensure they meet the formatting standards outlined in this guide, address any additional alerts that come up, and try to post again.
Best Practices for Brokers
How can I prevent my posts from being removed?
To avoid posts being removed, you must ensure all contact methods for your team are properly registered to your DAT One account.
- Register Every Contact:
Verify and register every phone number and email address used by you and your workgroup. - Using the Posting Form:
Use the checkboxes in the Contact Information section to select your preferred contact methods. If you must add contact methods to the Comments, they must be registered to your account or workgroups. - Using the Bulk Upload Tool:
Ensure only registered contact methods are present in the Comments column when uploading your CSV. - Use Standard Formatting:
- Ensure all contact methods are entered in a clear, standard format.
- Phone numbers: 555-555-5555 x123, (555) 555-5555 x123
- Only dashes or periods may be used between digits
- Email addresses: username@domain.com, .org, .net, etc.
How can I register additional contact methods?
- If you are a company admin:
- You can register new contact methods (phone numbers, email addresses) for your team directly in your DAT account page. This ensures these details are recognized and selectable when posting shipments.
- If you are not a company admin:
- You must ask your company admin to add or update the contact methods for your account or workgroup. Only admins have the authority to make these changes.
- If you'd like us to assist you:
- Contact DAT Support at 1-800-547-5417 to let us register additional contact methods for your account.
